Arnaki me Pizelia - Lamb and Peas |

150ml olive
oil

1 large
onion, chopped

1kg lamb,
cut in big pieces but not cubed

3 cloves of
garlic, finely chopped

1kg fresh
peas (or frozen)

2 potatoes,
cut in quarters
-
2 x 400g
tinned tomatoes, chopped

1 teaspoon salt
-
½ freshly
ground pepper
In a large sauce
pan heat oil over a high heat and fry the onion, stirring occasionally, until it is
translucent but not brown then add the meat and
garlic and fry until the meat is brown. Add the rest of the ingredients, stirring well, bring to
the boil, cover the pan and lower the heat.
Simmer for
1 hour or until the meat is cooked and the sauce is thick. Check
from time to time in case you have to add more water so the meat
doesn’t become dry.
