Tashi (Tahini) – Sesame seed dip Print E-mail
Houmous (Tahini) sesame seed dip

  • 100g Tahini  - can be bought at delicatessen shops
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon finely minced garlic
  • warm water as required (approx. 100ml)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt

With a hand mixer beat tahini with the garlic and lemon juice.  Add water little by little until the dip reaches the desired thickness  Add the olive oil and season with salt.

Serve with toasted pitta bread or it can be used as a sandwich filler.

I have found that adding a couple of tablespoons of Greek Yoghurt to this makes it taste even nicer
